Sync architecture
The behaviors most CounterPoint integrations get wrong — and what we built differently.
True bidirectional sync
Field-level direction control means you choose how each field flows. Push CounterPoint data outbound, pull web-side updates inbound, or sync both ways with intelligent conflict handling. Shopify-only fields like marketing notes can be routed into custom CP columns automatically.
Conflict resolution that's transparent
Default policies (newest wins, CP wins, destination wins) plus per-field overrides. When CP and your store update the same record at the same time, Nodeporter quarantines the conflict for your review instead of silently overwriting. You see what happened, you decide what stays.
Real-time, not five-minute-polled
Inventory changes on CP appear on Shopify in seconds. Online orders flow directly into PS_DOC via webhooks the moment a customer checks out. Outages auto-reconcile when service resumes — no manual replay, no missing data.
Inline transforms, no code required
Strip HTML from descriptions. Look up vendor names by number. Format phone numbers to e.164. Split comma-separated tags. Convert Y/N to booleans. A library of transform primitives, applied per field with a dropdown.

Whether your CP database lives in your back office or in the cloud, the install path is the same.
On-prem or Azure-hosted CP supported
The sentinel ships as a Windows service installer for on-prem deployments, or as a Docker container for cloud-hosted CP. Same codebase, two delivery formats. The local agent connects outbound to Nodeporter — no firewall ports to open, no inbound traffic to your network.
Pre-built integration templates
Twelve curated templates covering the most common CP-to-web integration patterns: products, inventory, orders, customers, gift cards, collections. Sensible defaults for the field mappings and triggers, with one-click "auto-map remaining" for the rest.
Audit log & quarantine review
Every sync event is logged with timestamps, source, target, and outcome. Quarantined conflicts surface in a single dashboard. Drill into any record to see exactly what was synced, when, and why.
Multi-site & multi-store ready
Multi-site CP installations connect via additional sentinels — one per store. Multiple destination platforms (Shopify, BigCommerce, accounting, marketplaces) connect alongside, with per-integration routing. Built for retailers who outgrew one-size-fits-all connectors.

v1 ships with Shopify. The platform extends naturally from there.
v1.5 — BigCommerce
Same template library, BigCommerce-specific adapter. Validates the platform's adapter pattern.
v2 — Accounting & marketplaces
QuickBooks, Xero, Amazon, eBay, Walmart Marketplace. The same adapter shape, different APIs.
v3 — Marketing & fulfillment
Mailchimp and Klaviyo for customer marketing. ShipStation and EasyPost for fulfillment.
